Product associate

  • London
  • Full Time (Permanent)
  • Hybrid
  • Cards UK Product

About the role

We’re looking for someone early in their career who wants to learn how fintech

products are actually built. We are not necessarily looking for a traditional product manager, who is focused on managing roadmaps or writing tickets.

Instead, we are looking for a builder. Someone who does not take things at face

value, who asks why things work the way they do and who enjoys challenging

assumptions before jumping to solutions.

You will work closely with the Cards team to break down problems, test ideas and

improve the product and business quickly. Many of the best improvements will

come from questioning how things currently work and finding simpler or faster ways

to do them.

If you are curious about fintech, lending and technology and want to see how a real

product is built and scaled, this role gives you that exposure.

What you'll be doing

This role spans a wide range of work across the UK Cards product. Broadly, the

work falls into two areas.

1. Running fast experiments

Many valuable improvements do not require engineering builds. We want someone

who enjoys questioning how things work today and running quick experiments to test

better approaches.

Examples include:

  • Testing different messaging, offers or incentives to increase engagement

  • Testing new acquisition features

  • Running manual experiments to validate ideas before committing engineering

2. Supporting product, tooling and AI initiatives

You will also support the team in improving how we operate and scale.

Examples include:

  • Maintaining and improving how the team uses AI tools (Claude, Cursor etc)

  • Supporting with building out AI customer support tools

  • Helping Finance and Capital Markets teams

A key part of the role is challenging how things are done today and helping the team

find simpler, faster or better ways to operate.

What we're looking for:

  • This role is designed for someone who wants to build things and learn quickly.

  • 1 - 3 years of experience in strategy, analytics, consulting or product

  • Likely your second job rather than a graduate role

  • Strong interest in technology, fintech and startups

  • Curious about AI and new tools

  • Interested in building products or starting companies in the future

You should be someone who

Thinks from first principles rather than accepting how things currently work

  • Asks good questions and challenges assumptions

  • Enjoys solving messy problems

  • Works well with data and numbers

  • Likes testing ideas quickly

  • Is comfortable working in fast moving environments - we will give you

  • direction and ownership but expect you to drive your agenda

  • Takes ownership and gets things done

Why this role is interesting

You will get exposure to:

  • How consumer lending and credit cards work

  • How fintech products are built and scaled

  • Experimentation and growth

  • AI tooling and automation inside a real product team

  • The operational side of running a fintech company

  • You will work closely with senior members of the Cards team and have the

  • opportunity to own meaningful projects early in your career.

So far, we’ve rebuilt the big three consumer finance products from scratch: loans, credit cards and car finance. We get money into our customers’ hands in minutes instead of days. We’re growing fast, and there’s a lot more to do. We’re going after the two biggest Western markets (UK and US) where trillions are held by big banks with dated systems and painful processes.

Life at Lendable

Two people with laptops on their lap sat either side of a black labrador on a sofa in front of a window. The dog is a very good girl.
  • The opportunity to scale up one of the world’s most successful fintech companies

  • Best-in-class compensation, including equity

  • You can work from home every Monday and Friday if you wish - on the other days we all come together IRL to be together, build and exchange ideas

  • Our in-house chefs prepare fresh, healthy lunches in the office every Tuesday-Thursday

  • We care for our Lendies’ well-being both physically and mentally, so we offer coverage when it comes to private health insurance

  • We're an equal opportunity employer and are keen to make Lendable the most inclusive and open workspace in London
