About this role

Suspense thrives on uncertainty, a calculated pause that draws in the observer. In this pause, placeholders emerge as valuable cues. Their very presence suggests that what is yet unseen could hold the answers, a revelation or a solution. When used thoughtfully, a placeholder can tease and compel, engaging the imagination.

Responsibilities

In websites, a loading spinner is no different than the ellipsis of a suspenseful plot twist; it tells the viewer that what is coming is worth waiting for. Key benefits of effective placeholders include:

  • Maintaining engagement: By signaling more to come, placeholders prevent user drop-off.
  • Setting expectations: Clear, well-placed placeholders hint at what content is coming next, adding structure.
  • Building suspense: The anticipation of more content holds attention, just as in storytelling.

Placeholder content, however, must tread a careful line. Too sparse, and it risks undermining its own suspense; too dense, and it overwhelms with unnecessary clutter. The balance lies in leaving just enough room for the mind to wander and fill the gaps.

About the role

We’re looking for a strategic, data-driven Commercial Partnerships Associate to join the Growth team at Lendable. Focused on Zable’s upcoming new products including car insurance and mobile, you’ll play a central role in go to market of these products on price comparison websites, building the partner relationships that drive customer acquisition, and delivering analytics to guide product development.

You don't need a background in partnerships or financial services, we care far more about how you think, how numerical you are, and whether you're genuinely curious about problems. You'll combine data analysis with external relationship management, take real ownership from early on, and work closely with Product, Data and Credit teams to deliver results in a fast-moving launch environment. You’ll be embedded within the growth team and will work closely with different teams at Lendable while being trusted to drive growth initiatives and handle your own projects independently.

Team objectives

  • We are responsible for the growth of all Lendable and Zable products, delivering projects via our price comparison site partnerships or directly into the market.

  • The team asks ‘where are new customers?’, ‘what can I improve with my current channels’ conversion?’, ‘what are competitors doing on marketplaces?’, ‘Am I risking negative selection?’, ‘what is the next product or innovation to develop?’, and ‘Are my unit economics working?’.

What you’ll be working on

  • You will own the launch of Zable car insurance and mobile on price comparison websites - from initial partner conversations through to integration, go live and on-going optimisation

  • Once live, take responsibility for channel performance: tracking volume, conversion and cost of acquisition at the partner level, identifying what’s driving changes and what to do about them

  • You will manage partner relationships across strategic and day-to-day activity, balancing focus on large strategic partners with incubating new exciting ideas and holding partners accountable to delivery milestones.

  • Prepare analysis to support commercial decisions: pulling the right data, forming a clear point of view, and presenting it in a way to keep moving forward

  • You will be trusted to negotiate customer acquisition costs and commissions with key partners, identifying areas for cost optimisations.

  • Work cross functionally with Product, Pricing, Data and Compliance to scope integrations, complete due diligence on new partners and drive projects forward

  • Keep track of what’s happening in mobile and insurance partner markets - new entrants, product changes, competitor moves - and bring those insights to internal discussions

  • The role progression includes gradually owning the full responsibility for strategy and execution of specific partner projects, marketing efforts or product enhancements that deliver business growth.

Your experience

  • 2-3+ years’ experience in a commercial, consultancy, partnerships, analytical, business development, or account management role; ideally within financial services or a high-growth tech environment.

  • Highly numerate and analytical, proficient in manipulating and visualising data in AI-assisted SQL / Python, and using commercial modelling to inform decisions.

  • Strong communicator able to represent Lendable externally and build trusted relationships internally and externally.

  • Demonstrably uses AI tools to work better, whether that's automating repetitive tasks, speeding up analysis, improving written output, or finding faster routes to answers. We don't care which tools; we care that you've genuinely changed how you work because of them, not just experimented once or twice.

  • Outcome-driven and proactive: skilled at prioritising, independently driving projects, and managing work to deliver high-value results.

  • Comfortable contributing to a collaborative team, while thriving in a role where your individual performance and impact are directly visible.

What does success look like 6 months after joining?

  • You’ve launched Zable non credit products on price comparison websites, and are starting to generate volume

  • Formed strong working relationships with all of our key partners, placing Zable as the partner of choice for all analytics or innovation collaborations.

  • You are assessing new partnership opportunities on a regular basis, have a clear view on the partner pipeline and are acting on ones that deliver tangible value to the business.

  • Ownership of the customer acquisition funnel at the individual partner level; identifying changes in funnel dynamics and attributing them at pace, sharing insights with Risk, Pricing and Product teams to inform wider acquisition strategy

  • First line ownership of due diligence checks and ongoing compliance monitoring of Lendable partners through dedicated diligence exercises and mystery shopping.

Interview process

  • 30-min introductory call with Talent team

  • 15min cognitive test

  • 60min in-person case study exercise with Head of Partnerships

  • Final round (in-person or virtual):

    • Head of Partnerships

    • Commercial MD and Insurance or Mobile MDs

So far, we’ve rebuilt the big three consumer finance products from scratch: loans, credit cards and car finance. We get money into our customers’ hands in minutes instead of days. We’re growing fast, and there’s a lot more to do. We’re going after the two biggest Western markets (UK and US) where trillions are held by big banks with dated systems and painful processes.
